About us
Portail de soumissions helps homeowners find a company holding an active licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) for their work, check that licence in a few seconds and get free quotes.
Who we are
The site is operated by A1 Freight Forwarding Inc. (Expédition de fret A1 Inc.), NEQ 1175598557, a business registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec. The site is an independent directory: we do not carry out, or have carried out, any construction work. The site is free for clients (people and businesses having work done), always; our income will come only from companies, through a “Featured” placement clearly labelled as paid.
Why Greater Montréal
We focus on residential and commercial work in Greater Montréal (the 82 municipalities of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal): Montréal and its areas, Laval, Longueuil and the North and South Shores. A request can be for your home or for your premises: a shop, an office, a building. Companies in the rest of Quebec stay on the site, by region, and a quote request may also be for a town elsewhere in Quebec.
How a quote request works
You describe your project once and confirm the request by email; it goes out in waves to companies whose RBQ licence covers that work, near your city, and they are the ones who answer you, each under its own licence. It is free for you, with no commission. The details — who receives the request, in what order, what is free and who sees your information — are on the How it works page.
How we check licences
Company profiles are created from the RBQ list of active licences, published on Données Québec under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0), and updated every night; the data date is shown at the bottom of every page (currently: November 3, 2026). A company whose licence is no longer active leaves the site at the next update. Each profile shows the licence subcategories, so you can check they cover your work, and links to the official register.
We publish incorporated companies only. Self-employed contractors (individuals) are not listed unless they sign up themselves. We do not publish street addresses or emails from this data.
Independence
We are not the RBQ and are not affiliated with any public body. For an official check, use the RBQ register. No company pays to be listed or to get the "active licence" status.
For companies
Is your company listed? Add a description, your website, your service areas and your logo for free, and see how many people view your profile, in the company account. You sign in with a link sent to the email address on file for your licence at the RBQ.
