Who is responsible
A1 Freight Forwarding Inc. (Expédition de fret A1 Inc.), NEQ 1175598557, 1520, 55e Avenue, Montréal (Québec) H8T 3J5, which operates Portail de soumissions (portaildesoumissions.ca). “Portail de soumissions”: other name declared to the Quebec Enterprise Registrar on November 1, 2026 (registration in progress). Person in charge of the protection of personal information (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, s. 3.1): the President of the company that operates the site, reachable at info@portaildesoumissions.ca.
Company profiles
Profiles are created from the RBQ's public list of active licences, for the very purpose of that register: letting the public check a contractor's licence. We publish incorporated companies only, with their name, city, licence number, authorized subcategories and business phone. We do not publish contractors who are individuals, nor the street addresses or emails found in this data. A company may ask for its profile to be corrected or removed at any time.
Visitors
The site uses no cookies for its visitors and no advertising tracking; its fonts are served by the site itself. To measure how useful it is, we count searches, profile views, clicks on “Call” and the steps of a request (button, form shown and sent, error) made by people (robots are excluded), with no IP address, no cookie and no personal identifier: only the type of action, the language, the date and, where relevant, the licence number viewed. Our host (Cloudflare) processes technical data, such as IP addresses, to protect the service against abuse.
Requests for quotes (people and businesses)
When you describe a project with the “Get free quotes” form, we collect the type of work, the city of the work (never the address), the description, the timing, the budget if given, whether the work is at home or at business premises, up to 3 photos if you add them, your name, your email and, if you give it, your phone. If you write for a business, the information about you as its contact person is personal information too and is protected the same way. This information is used only to let companies holding an RBQ licence that covers this work, in your area, answer you.

Each choice is optional and separate, unticked at first, and we keep its date. Photos are checked by us before anyone else sees them; their location and camera data are removed. Removal and retention: you can remove your request at any time with the link you receive by email; your name, contact details, description and photos are then erased. Every request is deleted automatically 60 days after it was sent; an unconfirmed request after 7 days.
Company account and consents
To sign in, a company enters its licence number; a link valid for 30 minutes is sent to the email address on file in the RBQ register or to another address at the same domain. We keep that address, the sign-in date, the changes made to the profile and what the company accepts (terms, Featured placement, reminders, with date and wording) for as long as the profile exists, then for at most two years. Only the company account uses a cookie: a strictly necessary session cookie, valid for 30 days, set only after signing in and used for no tracking.
Emails to companies
Requests are emailed to companies whose address is published on their own website, or that gave it to us. Each email carries the sender's identity and mailing address and an unsubscribe link; an address that unsubscribes is never written to again (we keep it only to honour that choice). The yearly RBQ payment reminder is sent only to companies that turn it on, and can be turned off in one click.
“Correct or remove” form
The name, email and message you send are used only to handle and answer your request, and are kept for at most two years.
Transfers outside Québec
The site, its database (including request photos) and the sending of its emails are hosted by Cloudflare (servers in the United States and elsewhere); our mailbox is hosted by our email provider. If payments by companies are offered, they will be handled by Stripe (Canada and United States), which alone will keep card data. Before this communication we carried out a privacy impact assessment; the information is protected by these providers' contractual commitments (encryption, access control) and may be subject to the laws of the countries where it is kept.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by writing to info@portaildesoumissions.ca. We answer within 30 days. You may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Incidents
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires, and record every incident in our register.
