Roofing quotes in Greater Montréal

Describe your roofing work: companies that hold an RBQ licence for this kind of work answer you directly. We neither prepare nor send any quote, and we do no construction work.

Flat roof on a plex or pitched roof on a house: one request is enough, and you compare the answers at your own pace.

Your request goes out in waves to licensed companies near your city: 5 at confirmation, then 5 more after 24 hours and 5 more after 72 hours while you have fewer than 2 answers, up to 15. Featured companies (promotional placement) that serve your city and whose licence covers the work receive it first. The type of work, the city, the timing and the budget are shown on the site, without any personal information.

How we handle your request: privacy policy. Remove it at any time with the link you receive by email; removed automatically after 60 days.

We do not promise a number of quotes: each company decides whether to answer. You choose yourself who to hire.

Companies start replying once the name is registered with the REQ; meanwhile, you can call a company from the list directly.

What to write in your roofing request

A roofing company prices the job from what you describe. Start with the kind of roof: the flat roof of a duplex or triplex covered with elastomeric membrane, built-up roofing or gravel, or a pitched roof with asphalt shingles or sheet metal. Add the rough age of the covering and the area if you know it, or simply how many units are under that roof.

Then describe what you see: a stain on the top-floor ceiling, lifted or missing shingles, a blistered membrane, flashing pulling away around a chimney, ice building up along the edge in winter. Say how the roof is reached (lane, outdoor staircase, number of storeys) and whether you need a one-off repair or a full replacement. Photos taken from the ground or through a window are enough: there is no need to climb on the roof.

Who may repair or replace a roof

Roof coverings fall under subcategory 7 of the RBQ licence (insulation, waterproofing, roofing and exterior cladding). Since almost every general contractor’s licence carries that subcategory, our roofers list gathers the companies whose name points to roofing. A serious company inspects the roof before giving a price; ask for a quote that spells out the materials, the flashing, debris removal and the company’s own warranty.

Frequently asked questions

How many roofers will get my request?

Up to 15, in three waves: 5 licensed companies near your city as soon as you confirm the request by email, 5 more 24 hours later and a last 5 after 72 hours, as long as you have fewer than 2 answers. No quote is guaranteed: each roofer decides whether to answer.

Do I pay anything?

No. Describing your roof, getting answers and browsing the lists cost nothing, and nothing obliges you to sign. The site’s income will come only from “Featured” placements bought by companies, always shown as advertising.

Will roofers see my address?

No: the form asks only for the city. Companies see the type of work, the city, the timing and the budget; the description only if you tick that box, and your name, email and phone only if you agree to pass them on.

Do I need a permit to redo a roof?

It depends on the city or borough, and on the material. In Montréal, 2,371 permits issued over twelve months mention roofing in their description. Some boroughs regulate the colour or material of flat roofs: check with your municipality and agree in writing on who applies for the permit.
